The SSI Model Railway Control System mouse operation is fully compliant with RailTrack/IECC standards.
The left mouse button is used to place devices in their 'Normal' position.
The right mouse button is used to place devices in their 'Reverse' position.
The Centre mouse button is used with 'NCR' (Normal/Centre/Reverse) point key switches and turnouts. When in Centre position, a point key switch places a turnout under the control of the route setting system instead of locking it to Normal or Reverse position.
Because 3 button mice are not always available, SSI also supports two button operation where clicking Normal on a Normal device or Reverse on a Reversed device removes a point key.
