GPP Software was formed in the UK in 1983 when we released our first products called 'MicroAid' and 'LayoutControl'.

What is your company and product history ?
| 1983 | Release of 'MicroAid' developer tools and 'LayoutControl' model railway control software. LayoutControl incorporated full turnout, signalling and interlocking support as per prototypical UK interlocks of the time and also enabled multiple workstations via simple networking protocols |
| 1989 | LayoutControl migrated to Microsoft Windows |
| 1992 | Release of 'HelpBuilder', a tool for authoring Windows Help files |
| 1993 | Release of 'Setup Builder' software installer and 'Library Manager' source code version control system |
| 1995 | Formation of GPP Software development and consulting services in Australia |
| 1995 | Release of 'SpellChecker', an addon for HelpBuilder and a separate library for developers to build into their own applications |
| 1997 | LLLIB Licensing Library released. This is a toolkit which allows developers to build licensing control into their software.
'LayoutControl' upgraded and renamed as 'SSI Model Railway Control System' |
| 1998 | Release of the BR Steam photo CD collection |
| 1999 | Release of our 'Contact Management System' software which can be used by anyone involved in a sales team and managing a client database |
| 2000 | 'Check 2000' released. This product provided developers with a utility for analysing program source code for potential year 2000 date compliance problems. In April 1998 this product was renamed to 'SourceCheck 2000' and included the 'SourceScan' program for analysing Visual Basic applications. |
| 2002 | 'Contact Management System' re-written in C++ and utilising ODBC so that it can run with Access and SQL Server databases. In the process of the re-write, we made CMS a completely tailorable product such that the developer can reconfigure all tables, indexes, menus, screens, lists, reports etc by using the CMS Utilties add-on. CMS has now become a comprehensive database application development environment aimed at the SME end of the market and can be used to develop any inventory, customer/contact/relationship, call centre or personal database application required.
Released a further add-on to our 'CMS' suite of applications: CMS Scheduler. This is an automated task scheduler, ideal for operations departments who want to schedule jobs such as file transfers, copies etc |
| 2004 | Released our 'SiteNet' website hosting system which enables customers to build websites within our hosting environment. This enables their sites to contain advanced functionality such as shopping carts and search engines as standard. |
| 2006 | Released Version 2 of our 'Presentation Manager' software, a product to replace Microsoft PowerPoint in presentation and performance spaces such as conferences, businesses and church services. |
